Laura Koss

After struggling with the latency that comes with breaking a hip just after being released out into the real world after a full preparation provided by the University of Virginia, I found myself turning to yoga as a movement solution during the imposed rehabilitation period of being inambulatory. What I discovered eventually led to a lifelong passion for healing as I delved into the art of recovery, finding my world of unresolved emotional turmoil suddenly transforming with the profound new properties of healing emerging from a developing practice of modified asana. 

Years after my emotional recovery, a career-ending car accident left me back at square one facing the reality of living with a brain injury and the imposing deficiencies that came with a convergence insufficiency challenging my vision. It wasn't until the manifestating eventual consequence of tactile hallucinations rendered me incapable of performing physical activities without initiating a debilitating state of hallucinatory paralysis that I rediscovered the power of yoga to take back control of my life and in time, heal the injuries inflicted on both body, and psyche. Healing myself with yoga through a range of challenges has inspired me to dedicate my experiences to helping others find the light while traveling through some of the same darknesses in which my life has been created.
